“Ovo ab malum #1”

Size: 28x25cm

Medium:

Ink and copper on paper

"The series "Ovo ab malum" is named after the Latin expression signifying from beginning to end, and I have started it as a reminder of the impermanence of the present situation relative to the history of humanity. It is inspired by decorative markings found on prehistoric pottery. I found that working with repeating patterns provides a sense of control and comfort that I have been missing in my day-to-day life during the past few weeks as life under quarantine and the need to leave my usual studio space has imposed many new constraints on my work."-- Adina Andrus.
