'This monochrome painting was inspired by an image seen on an old programme. I really liked the unusual shapes caused by the different sources of light and the shadows that form an atmospheric and mysterious image.

It is painted in acrylic on clayboard and uses scraping and scratching techniques as well as colour lifting to achieve interesting marks.' -- Kathy Gales
