Description

Original Painting. The open sea, the elements of water and wind, suggest the essential, ineluctable parts of the world.

Nothing To Share But Yesterday

50 x 70 cm,

oil on canvas.

A figure in a landscape, a woman stands on a grassy ridge above the sea, stretching up as she pegs unruly laundry to a line. She appears to be a figure from the past, a memory of

another age.

Artwork Concept

The open sea, the elements of water and wind, suggest the essential, ineluctable parts of the world. The manual, domestic chores say something about a simpler time.

The serpentine shapes echo the billowing of the fabrics and the combination of monochrome and sharper colours suggest both a time past and yet very much of the

present.
